David Meyler can’t wait to find out who the Tigers’ opening fixture of the 2013/14 Barclays Premier League season will be against and says the release of the new fixture lists is an exciting time for both players and fans alike.
The Tigers’ fixture list will be released at 9am on Wednesday morning and Meyler feels that seeing Hull City’s name back alongside the likes Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal will once again highlight the enormity of what was achieved by Steve Bruce’s side in winning automatic promotion from the Championship last month.
“I think we’re all really looking forward to the fixtures coming out,” said Meyler.
“I’m sure everybody will be looking for the dates of games against Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and all of that.
“We’ll also be looking at who our first couple of home games are against and then you start to scan the list and look at where you can pick up points.
“Personally I can’t wait to see who we’re going to be playing against and when. It’s going to be incredible to play against all of the big teams and obviously going back to Sunderland will be a game to look forward to for me as well.
“We’re just all looking forward to the new season.”
Once the fixtures are out, Meyler will take the opportunity to ‘switch off’ for a while after a busy spell away with the Republic of Ireland, before returning for pre-season training with the Tigers next month.
“I’m sure I’ll head out to play a bit of golf and try and get my handicap down a few notches,” added Meyler.
“I might catch a bit of sun as well, but then it will be back to training to make sure that we’re focussed for the new season.”
The Tigers’ full fixture list for 2013/14 will be revealed here at www.hullcityafc.net at 9am on Wednesday morning. We’ll also have all of the key dates available on our Official Facebook and Twitter pages.
