Physically demanding fixtures against Liverpool and Arsenal in the last few days have seen plenty of energy expended, but with the journey to South Wales not coming until Monday, Bruce says there is now that extra bit of time to refresh the legs.
“I think the extra couple of days’ preparation is a welcome thing for us,” said Bruce.
“The last two games have taken a lot out of us physically but we’ve got an extra couple of days to recover now compared to what we would normally have.
“We also know that Swansea will be a difficult game as well, so those extra couple of days of preparation are going to be vital. Hopefully we can go down there and pick up some points.
“Swansea are a good footballing side, but then when you look at the Premier League you’re not going to come up against anybody that can’t play the game.
“We know that one will be tough, but we’ve played some good teams so far and taken maximum points so hopefully we can do that again on Monday night.”
Bruce has returned to the Tigers’ starting eleven in the last couple of games to cover for an injury to Paul McShane and he’s enjoying the Premier League experience.
“I’m really enjoying it,” added Bruce.
“To play at grounds like the Emirates and take on teams like Arsenal and Liverpool is what we worked so hard for last season.
“Playing in these games is what we’re all striving to do.”
