Steve Bruce will urge his players to make the most of home advantage tonight as Hull City look to make it back-to-back league wins.

Southampton are the visitors to the KC Stadium where the Tigers will be looking to build on their weekend victory at Sunderland with Bruce knowing how important a second win inside four days would be. However, he also knows how tough a test the game will be for his side.

“Apart from the really big teams, Southampton are the best out of the rest of us,” said Bruce.

“They were certainly terrific when we played them down there and they have individual players who are capable of playing at the highest level.

“Southampton gave us our biggest ‘doing’ of the season down there so we know it’s going to be a tough game, but it’s one we’ll look forward to.

“We have to be better than we were down there because we were well beaten.

“Tonight is a wonderful opportunity for us. It’s very difficult to get back-to-back wins in the league and if we can do it, it will shoot us up to 30 points and edge us ever closer to where we want to be.”
