The Tigers head into Saturday’s away game against Newcastle United with four points from their first four matches and Davies says the players are approaching the weekend with confidence.
“I’d say we were a bit disappointed not to win against Cardiff last weekend because of the chances we created,” said Davies.
“But it was another point for us and we now have four points from four games so we’re going in the right direction.
“We now have Newcastle on Saturday followed by two home games and we’re looking at those as games that we can get more points out of.
“Newcastle had a good result against Aston Villa last weekend, but we’ll be going up there confident and hopefully we can get a result.
“It’s going to be a difficult game, but you know that if you can go there and keep them quiet for the first 20 minutes it can keep their fans quiet as well and you can take it from there.
“I’m sure a lot of teams will be looking at the fixtures and thinking that Hull City at home should be a win and hopefully that can work in our favour.
“With the players we’ve got in our squad and the pace we also have in Sone Aluko and now Yannick Sagbo coming back, we’ve got the ability to exploit on the counter-attack. Hopefully myself, ‘Chez’ (James Chester) and the rest of the lads at the back can stay solid and we can break away and get a goal.”
