After Saturday’s victory against Norwich City, the Tigers turn their attention to the Capital One Cup this evening with a second round trip to Leyton Orient.
The Tigers have already tasted success against Orient in 2013 after knocking them out of the FA Cup back in January and they’ll be hoping for progress in the League Cup tonight.
A much changed side is expected to take to the field at the Matchroom Stadium with manager Steve Bruce set to give a number of players the chance to impress. Definitely out of the running for game time tonight are Yannick Sagbo (suspended), Stephen Quinn (hamstring) and Abdoulaye Faye (calf), but a number of others are likely to be given a first run-out of the season.
Paul McShane, Joe Dudgeon, Nick Proschwitz and Matty Fryatt will be amongst those hoping for a chance with a place in the third round of the competition at stake.
Bruce’s men are likely to face a tough task against an Orient side currently top of League One. Russell Slade’s team have won all four of their league fixtures so far, including a 2-0 win against Crewe on Saturday, and have kept three successive clean sheets.
The O’s knocked out Coventry City in the first round of the League Cup, edging past the Sky Blues with a 3-2 win on home soil.
Tonight’s game kicks-off at 7.45pm with tickets available in advance from the KC Stadium Ticket Office until 12noon. Fans can also pay at the turnstiles with admission priced £15 Adults, £10 Concessions and £5 Under 18s.
