New signing Evandro says he is confident he can make an immediate impact at the Tigers following his transfer from FC Porto.
The Brazilian joins the Club on a two-and-a-half year deal and goes straight into Marco Silva’s squad to face Bournemouth today.
The attacking midfielder admits he’s looking forward to stepping out at the KCOM Stadium and experiencing the moment he had dreamt of for many years.
“It was always my dream to play in the Premier League and that is the case for so many players around Europe,” said Evandro.
“I can’t wait to experience this league and hopefully I can prove myself in this division.
“As soon as I got the interest from the club I was delighted because I see this as a big step for my career.
“I come from a big team in Portugal with Porto but being here in the Premier League is definitely progress for my own career.
“I’m very confident we can get out of the position we are in at the moment and move up the league.
“I wouldn’t have signed here if I didn’t think we were capable of staying in the Premier League and that is what I expect for the next few months.”
Evandro, who signed up alongside fellow new recruit Oumar Niasse, also admitted that a chance to link up with boss Marco Silva again was too good to turn down after the pair worked together at Portuguese side Estoril.
“He was one of the big reasons for coming here because I know very well how Marco works having worked with him before,” added the 30-year-old.
“I know how he likes to get his teams playing and hopefully I can be a big part of this team.
“I know that Hull is a traditional and good club in England and that was a big reason for coming here.
“We are not in the best position in the league as things stand but we are all confident we can start moving up the league.
“That confidence comes from the manager and we all want to give our all for him and the club.
“I am an attacking midfield player with good vision and technical ability. I like to get on the ball and try to create chances for my teammates.
“I am also capable of scoring goals and helping with the organisation of the midfield. I’m confident I can bring all this to the club and help the club escape the relegation zone.”
The Tigers entertain Bournemouth today in what promises to be a vital game in the run-in towards the end of the season.
Evandro is hoping to play a part in the game and start his spell in East Yorkshire with three points.
“The game is at home so it would be nice to start my time at this club with a win.
“The fans can give us a lot of confidence for this important game against Bournemouth and we hope they appreciate our performance.
“It could be the game which starts our climb up the table and hopefully that will be the starting point for us this season to go on and get more good results.
“I am fit and ready to play. I have not had as many games as I had hoped this season with Porto but I feel ready to give a good performance for the Club.
“There is not a lot of time to get settled in the Club with the amount of games we have coming but I want to hit the ground running and that should start on Saturday.”
