Abel Hernandez has been ruled out of action for a further three weeks with the striker set to undergo a hernia operation.
Hernandez has already been on the sidelines for a month after pulling up with a groin problem during the victory over Southampton but had been expected to return this week with the Tigers short of attacking options.
However, following Monday night’s defeat at Middlesbrough, Head Coach Mike Phelan revealed that the Uruguayan forward’s comeback has been delayed.
“Abel will be out for three weeks,” said Phelan.
“He has recovered from the groin problem but he needs a hernia operation and he’ll have that this week.”
There were no fresh injuries to come out of the defeat at Middlesbrough.
