Post-Match Reaction With Marco Silva

20:46 15th April 2017

Head Coach Marco Silva spoke to the media following Saturday’s 3-1 defeat at Stoke City – here’s a flavour of what he had to say:

“I think we only played for 80 minutes because we didn’t play in the first ten minutes of this game. We did not start well. After this, we had good intensity in some moments and caused our opponents problems, but it becomes impossible with the way we started the game.

“We had very good chances during the game to make the score a different one but we only took one. Our opponents took more and they scored very good goals.

“We responded to going 1-0 down, but our start needed to be different. We have to analyse because I am not happy with our performance in general. We needed to do more in the game.

“You have to start games strongly at this level and play for 90 minutes, not only 80.

“I want to see improvement in our away results and we are working to achieve that. As I have said many times, we prepare for away games exactly the same as we do for home games

“We have one week now to prepare for the next game against Watford. It is at home where we have been strong so we must prepare well again. We need to take points.”
