Silva Looks Forward To Semi-Final Challenge

12:19 10th January 2017

Marco Silva says the Tigers face a big challenge when they face Manchester United in the first leg of their EFL Cup Semi-Final at Old Trafford on Tuesday night.

While it is a big occasion for the Club, being a first ever appearance in the last four of this competition, for Silva the focus is on ensuring the tie remains alive for the second leg at the KCOM Stadium later this month.

“It is a tough, tough game for us for sure,” said Silva.

“We must try to make sure the result is still open for when we come back home. That is our challenge for this game.

“Semi-finals are very important games. It is important for us and it is important for Manchester United. I am sure Manchester United will select the best team they have and we have to be prepared for that.

“We have worked on the training pitch to make sure our team is ready for this game.

“I liked what we did during the game against Swansea. We had problems in that game, because Swansea caused problems, but now we must build step-by-step and improve again for this game against Manchester United.

“It’s not the best game to try and do this because Manchester United is a very good team, but we are going there to compete against them.

“Our players have a dream to play in the final of this competition. To do that, we have to play well.”
