Confident Approach

David Stockdale retains his belief that the Tigers can enjoy a successful end to the season.

The unpredictable nature of the Championship has come to the fore in the last fortnight with City’s stunning 5-2 win against Birmingham sandwiched between away defeats at Bolton and Crystal Palace.

With the Tigers not in action until Monday night’s televised clash at Burnley, the players will watch the results roll in over the weekend but whatever position City head to Turf Moor in, Stockdale remains confident his side has what it takes to achieve success.

“The two away defeats have hurt us inside,” admitted Stockdale.

“But it doesn’t worry me because I know all of the players are giving their all. It’s not about individuals, we defend from the front and attack from the back.

“Like I said, everybody is hurting inside (after Tuesday night) but not to the point where we’re concerned about it happening again. We’ll all be ready for Monday night.

“We’re still looking upwards and we’re still looking at those automatic promotion places.

“This is a crazy league where anything can happen, as you can see from our last three results. We’ll be going into the game on Monday night with a positive frame of mind and looking to win it.”
