A Minute For Les

05 October 2017
The Club will be holding a minute's applause ahead of our next Sky Bet Championship home game against Nottingham Forest to pay our respects to Les Mutrie, who sadly passed away earlier this week.

“Sir Les” – as he was affectionately known by Tigers fans during his time at Boothferry Park – was a popular figure in black and amber.

Mutrie was part of Colin Appleton’s side that won promotion from Division Four in 1982/83, but it is his goalscoring feats in the previous campaign that he is best remembered for – netting 27 goals in 43 league appearances – including a run of scoring in nine consecutive games, which remains a Club record to this day.

Members of Les’ family have been invited to attend the game at the KCOM Stadium on Saturday 28th October (KO 5.30pm) as guests of the Club.

Everyone at the Club would once again like to offer their sincere condolences to all Les’ family and friends at this sad time.
