The Tigers will be putting their excellent home form, which sees them unbeaten in their last 12 on KCOM soil, up against a Blades outfit currently in second place in the table and chasing automatic promotion.
“It should be a cracking game,” said Adkins.
“Sheffield United are second in the table at the moment, so it’s a game that means a lot. It’s a real physical challenge having played in the heat on Friday and it will be the same today.
“There will be some changes to the side that are forced upon us, and I’ll see where the rest are physically before selecting the team.
“Chris Wilder has done a phenomenal job with Sheffield United and they have every chance of automatic promotion.
“We’ve been on a great run of form at home and we’ll be giving everything we’ve got. We’ve got three games remaining and we’ll keep working hard. We’ve got a great group of lads and they’re looking forward to another game at the KCOM.”
