Bowen collided heavily with advertising hoardings in the second half during last night’s 3-2 defeat at Norwich after a cynical challenge from Jamal Lewis, which resulted in a booking for the Canaries’ left-back.
De Wijs, meanwhile, looks set to be missing for a second successive game after sitting out the trip to Carrow Road with a virus.
“Jordy went down ill on Sunday,” Adkins revealed after last night’s loss at Norwich.
“We’ve got a good medical team here though and they’ve been looking after him. He wasn’t available for last night’s game, which was a big shame, and he probably won’t be available for the weekend either. We’ll just have to wait and see.
“With regards to Jarrod, he was feeling his shoulder, he was feeling his back and he was feeling sick towards the end of the game as well. He ended up going into the advertising boards and it wasn’t nice to see.”
One player who definitely won’t be involved at the weekend will be skipper Markus Henriksen, who will serve a two-match ban after collecting his tenth booking of the season against Norwich.
“Markus can’t play at the weekend after he was booked so when we looked at the substitutions I made a call to take Kevin Stewart off because he’s not played for a long time,” he added.
“We’ve got a very short turnaround ahead of the weekend so I wanted to make sure Kev was fine for that game.”
