Nigel Adkins is hopeful that the hamstring injury that kept Evandro out of Saturday’s defeat at Reading will only see the Brazilian unavailable for selection for a short period of time.
The attacking midfielder was not included in the Tigers’ travelling party that headed to the Madejski Stadium after suffering the injury setback in training ahead of the Sky Bet Championship clash.
Scans have revealed that the issue is only “very, very minor” and, although unable to determine precisely how long Evandro would be sidelined for, Adkins is optimistic it will only be a short hiatus.
“He felt his hamstring in training so he wasn’t fit,” said Adkins. “How long is he going to be out for? Hopefully not too long.
“That was a major blow. He didn’t play on Tuesday night against Wigan and we were very conscious of what he’s done this season. He’s not missed a day’s training in 12 weeks.
“We left him out the other night to keep him fresh but he’s gone and felt his hamstring.
“It’s only a minor one. He’s had a scan and it’s very, very minor but it’s frustrating.”
