Adkins: Players Relishing Norwich Test

13 March 2019
Nigel Adkins insists his players are relishing the opportunity to face high-flying Norwich City this evening.

The Tigers travel to Carrow Road looking to bounce back from Saturday’s 3-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest and end a frustrating run of four successive defeats on the road.

The promotion-chasing Canaries are in fine form heading into the clash having won seven of their last nine outings and suffered just two defeats in their previous 24 league fixtures.

Adkins is looking forward to the challenge his side will face in Norfolk, but knows the Tigers will have to be at their best in order to get a result.

“We’ve got to keep the spirits high,” said Adkins. “We’ve got everything to gain and nothing to lose. That’s not changed so let’s enjoy the situation we’re in.

“Before the Forest game we were four points off the play-offs and now it’s five points.

“It’s an important game against Norwich tonight and we’ll go there looking to try and win the game.

“We were the last team to keep a clean sheet against Norwich when we played them at home but they’re up at the top of the league for a reason.

“We’ve got to be right at the top of our game to give ourselves an opportunity there but it’s a game we should look forward to.

“We’ve made sure we’ve got to do it a harder way but that’s the reality of it. We just have to keep working hard and put ourselves in a position to win as many times as we can in these remaining games.”
