The black and amber faithful flocked to the Algarve in their numbers once again and were loud and proud as they got behind the players in the pre-season clashes with C.S. Maritimo and S.C. Braga, as well as coming to watch training at the Cascade Wellness & Lifestyle Resort where the Tigers were based during their week-long stay.
Speaking after returning home at the weekend, Adkins said: “It was fantastic that so many of the fans came out to enjoy some time in the sun and support the team – I can’t thank them all enough.
“It was good to be able to interact with the fans and have a bit of banter. That’s what football is all about – everyone is supposed to enjoy it and it was great to see the smiles of the fans faces before, during and after both games.
“It was great to see both the players and staff interact with the fans because I think that’s hugely important. As I say, there was a good bit of banter flying around and some good songs on show. The fans were a credit to this Club.
“At the end of the day, we all want Hull City to do well this season and I think everyone can see the players are working extremely hard.
“We hugely appreciate the fans that have travelled to come out and support the team. I’m sure they’ve all enjoyed their time in Portugal and likewise, we want to make sure they enjoy the whole of the season when the competitive action gets underway.”
