Rovers have made an unbeaten start to life back in the Championship following their promotion from League One in May, drawing their opening two league fixtures before thrashing League Two Carlisle United 5-1 in the Carabao Cup.
That game saw dangerman Bradley Dack score twice along with recent signing Adam Armstrong, and with Danny Graham also due to return to the side, Adkins knows Tony Mowbray’s team carry plenty of threat.
“We know it’s going to be tough against Blackburn – they’ve got promoted, they play with a real spirit and they have plenty of threats on the field particularly in their front line with Danny Graham and Bradley Dack,” said Adkins.
“They’re in a good place at the moment with a good manager. They have momentum and they are a good side.
“However, we’re looking for a win and we’ve prepared well for the game. All of the information that the players need is there and now we have to go out there and perform.
“Our performances have been good in the early part of the season. We’ve scored some good goals and we’ve looked dynamic with our movement. Of course we would have liked to have won all three games that we’ve played but we’ve been to Sheffield Wednesday and drawn, and gone to Sheffield United in the cup and progressed with a win on penalties. For large parts of the opening game against Aston Villa we did very well and some individual mistakes took the game away from us. We’ve responded well to that, though.
“I know our players will be giving everything that they have to get the win tomorrow.”
