Adkins Provides Update On Dan Batty

19 September 2018
Head Coach Nigel Adkins doesn’t believe that the knee injury suffered by Daniel Batty last weekend is too serious, although the midfielder remains a doubt for Saturday’s trip to Reading.

Batty left the field during the first half of the Tigers’ 2-0 victory over Ipswich Town and missed Tuesday night’s loss at Wigan Athletic.

Providing an update on the 20-year-old’s injury, Adkins said: “He opened his knee out so he’s just got to go through the process in terms of the rehab.

“It shouldn’t be a long one, but whether he is going to be available for the weekend or the two or three games after that we’ll have to wait and see.”

Tuesday night brought no further injuries to Adkins’ squad, other than the usual bumps and scrapes involved in a Championship battle.

“There were plenty of people with ice on afterwards and it was a competitive game,” added Adkins.

“There were a lot of balls to compete for and there’s a few dead legs, but that’s the nature of football and highlights that you’ve been competitive.”
