The Tigers make the long trip south looking to put the frustration of Saturday’s 1-1 home draw – and a six-game winless run – firmly behind them and Adkins insists finding a return to winning ways is the team’s sole focus.
“We produced another good performance against Preston at the weekend and didn’t get the result that we deserved on the back of it,” he said.
“It just shows the fine margins – we hit the woodwork three times and their goalkeeper has made a lot of good saves. It was frustrating to concede late on, but that’s gone now and our focus quickly switched to tonight’s game.
“Bristol City down there is going to be a tough game, as every game is in the Championship. But we’ll go there with a real spirit and determination to get a result. The players are working hard and there is a real togetherness within the camp.
“The whole team is committed. Everyone is having a go but results dictate. We are moving in a direction where we look as though we are going to get wins, which is important.
“With the personnel we’ve got, we’re trying to find ways to go and win games of football and that’s what we’ll be looking to do this evening.”
