The Tigers face Cardiff City in the third round of this season’s competition (KO 7pm) and, on what is always one of the most eagerly anticipated dates in the youth calendar, Anderson is hoping the Club’s supporters will turn out in their numbers to get behind his team.
“It will be a great experience for the lads,” said Anderson. “I know some of them have been involved with the Under-23s when they’ve had games at the KCOM Stadium, but a lot haven’t so it will be good for them and everybody involved with the Under-18s set-up.
“It’s a big competition and hopefully there’ll be a bigger crowd than what we’re used to playing in front of. It’s under the floodlights as well – so it should be a good night.
“The lads were eagerly awaiting the draw when it was made last month and when it happened – they all knew who we were playing before I did!
“It’s great to see them so excited for the game though and the lads have made it clear how much they’re are looking forward to the occasion.
“But, it’s important to remember it’s a tie that we want to go and win. It will be a tough test for us because Cardiff are a good side but the aim is to produce a performance worthy of booking our place in the next round.”
Tickets for the FA Youth Cup tie are priced at £3 and can be purchased in advance from Tiger Leisure stores at the KCOM Stadium and Prospect Centre, whilst the KCOM Stadium store will remain open until kick-off on the night of the game.
