The 21-year-old midfielder missed Saturday’s trip to Mansfield Town as the Tigers continued their preparations for the forthcoming Sky Bet Championship campaign with a 2-2 draw courtesy of goals from Jarrod Bowen and Nouha Dicko.
A minor knee injury picked up in the behind-closed-doors friendly victory over Grimsby Town earlier in the week was the reason for Batty’s absence, although McCann revealed in his post-match interviews that the Academy product will feature against the Ligue 1 side.
“Dan got a whack following a collision with Tyler Hamilton in our behind-closed-doors game against Grimsby earlier in the week,” he explained.
“That resulted in Tyler getting concussed while Dan felt his knee, so we opted not to push him and let him sit out Saturday’s game.
“Dan will play on Wednesday against Amiens though, while Tyler should be back in training on Monday.”
McCann also provided a positive injury update on Reece Burke, who was substituted late on at the One Call Stadium after picking up a knock while making a defensive clearance.
“With regards to Reece, I don’t think there’s too much to worry about,” he added.
“He wanted to go straight back on after getting treatment, so we’re hopeful it’s nothing too serious.”
