Bowler Looking Forward To Cup Clash

27 August 2019
Josh Bowler is hoping for another opportunity to showcase his qualities in black and amber in tonight’s Carabao Cup clash at Preston North End.

The on-loan Everton winger made his first competitive start for the Tigers in the previous round of the cup competition as McCann’s men comfortably beat League One Tranmere Rovers 3-0.

And – should Head Coach Grant McCann opt to shuffle his pack once again for the trip to Deepdale – Bowler is eager to make a positive impression in order to help the Tigers progress.

“I’m looking forward to it,” he said. “Hopefully I can get another run out – whether that’s a start or coming off the bench. I just want to make an impact in the game and help us win the tie.

“It’s going to be a tough game against a fellow Championship side but we’ve just got to deal with whatever is thrown at us.

“We produced a very good team performance in the previous round away at Tranmere and we’ll be looking for more of the same tonight.

“It’s a chance to build on that result at Tranmere and a chance to build on what we’ve worked on and learnt from the gaffer.

“We’ll go there looking to bounce back for our last two defeats in the league.

“Everyone in the group is looking forward to the challenge. We’re going into the tie fully focused, mentally prepared and with the desire to win the game.”
