Elder, who plays predominantly as a left back, joins for an undisclosed fee and has signed a three-year deal that includes a club option of a further year.
The 24-year-old Australian moved to England as a 16-year-old to join Leicester’s Academy before gaining his first taste of senior football during a loan period with Mansfield Town. He has since had temporary spells with Peterborough United, Brentford, Barnsley, Wigan Athletic and Ipswich Town.
Head Coach Grant McCann is pleased to add Elder to his squad, saying: “We brought Callum to Peterborough United when I was the assistant manager there and he was excellent. He’s had a number of other loan spells, too, but it was important that he found a home and he’s got that here for the next three years. He adds further competition to the group.”
Elder joins Leonardo Da Silva Lopes, Matthew Pennington and Josh Magennis in signing for the Tigers today, and takes the total number of new arrivals at the Club in this transfer window to ten.
