Tigers Events at the KCOM Stadium are passionate about supporting great causes and giving back to others. That’s why every year we make a commitment to one outstanding charity to work alongside, while helping raise funds and awareness.
This year we are thrilled to announce that our Charity of the Year is… Dove House Hospice
About the charity
As the only hospice of its kind in Hull and East Yorkshire, Dove House Hospice cares for thousands of adults each year that are living with a terminal illness, whether that be Cancer, Motor Neurones Disease or many other incurable illnesses. Whilst they understand their illness is no longer curable, the hospice focus on a patient’s quality of life and aim to enrich the positives such as their relationships with family and friends.
Complete medical care is provided 24 hours a day and 365 days a year at absolutely no cost. Ensuring they go the extra mile for both the patient and their family through their Family Support team, Therapy team and Catering staff ensures that a patient’s stay with Dove House is as peaceful and comfortable as possible.
The hospice is contacted every day by parents, grandparents and siblings in need of support and it is through local business and community partnerships that they are able to continue to offer their expertise to the whole family free of charge. It costs over £8 million each year to ensure that Dove House Hospice remains open and free to those that need their services.
Dan Clipson, Regional Fundraiser at Dove House Hospice said, “We are incredibly grateful to Tigers Events in choosing the hospice as their Charity of the Year and very much look forward to the events and activity that they have planned throughout the 2019 and 2020. Support from corporate partners is incredibly important to us and allows the hospice to continue to be a key, free and accessible provision to those in Hull and East Yorkshire that need us”.
Our Sales Manager, Katie West, said, “We are delighted to announce Dove House Hospice as our nominated charity for 2019/20. The charity provides excellent care for people in the local community with life limiting illnesses and here at the stadium we hope to provide space for them to hold a variety of events to fund raise throughout the year.”
