The Tigers are in action for the second time during their week-long stay in Marbella when facing the 24-time Gibraltar Premier Division champions and – after Tuesday night’s 2-2 draw with Leyton Orient – Dutchman de Wijs is looking forward to getting more minutes in the bank.
“It was great to get the first game under our belt and everyone is excited about the challenge awaiting us in this evening’s match,” he said.
“We are working hard to get ourselves ready for the first league game away at Swansea and tonight’s match is the next step in helping us to achieve that.
“Training here in Marbella has been nice. It’s been tough work in the heat, but we know the rewards of doing so.
“The pitches are nice, the gym is perfect and the conditions are great for us to work hard in and improve our fitness levels. We also have lovely weather, so I can’t complain.
“Our time here has been very beneficial and it would be nice to round it off on a positive note against Lincoln.”
