An explosive second half performance saw Hull City finish the 2003/04 campaign in style with a 3-0 victory over Bristol Rovers as the KCOM Stadium hosted its first-ever promotion party.

After a goalless first 45 minutes, the introductions of Jason Price and Jamie Forrester sparked Peter Taylor’s side into life. Welshman Price claimed his 10th goal of the season – just six minutes after coming on – to open the scoring.

Forrester then set-up Damien Delaney for the Tigers’ second of the afternoon, with the centre-back firing home a fine effort before Stuart Elliott completed the scoring with a superb strike from distance 16 minutes from time.

In what was a fitting end to a memorable season, the players and staff all collected their medals for finishing as runners-up in Division Three before skipper Ian Ashbee was presented with a silver shield in recognition of their achievement.
