Goal of the Day: Ashbee vs Millwall 2008/09

05 May 2020
Ian Ashbee may not have scored too many goals in a Hull City shirt but, when he did, they were usually memorable ones either in terms of quality or importance.

It was the quality box that was ticked in the Tigers’ FA Cup Fourth Round clash with Millwall in 2008/09. A swift counter attacked created by the hard work of Caleb Folan eventually saw the ball come to Daniel Cousin, who then rolled the ball into the path of Ashbee 25 yards from goal and the Tigers’ skipper sent a thunderous strike into the back of the net.
