In a tight match that ended in a 2-2 stalemate, Alexis Sanchez opened the scoring for the Gunners before an almost instant response saw Mohamed Diame pull the Tigers back level just five minutes later.
The match was locked at 1-1 heading into half-time, but the visitors from East Yorkshire wasted no time in changing that when they returned for the second half.
Midfielder Tom Huddlestone floated out to the right side of the box to receive the ball from Jake Livermore before splitting the Arsenal defence apart with a precise cross towards Hernandez, who needed no second invitation to nod the ball in from 6 yards.
