After penning his first professional deal with the Tigers at the end of the previous campaign, the exciting winger has seen his impressive progress – which includes a senior debut in this season’s Carabao Cup First Round tie away at Doncaster Rovers in September – rewarded with a new contract, one which the 19-year-old was only too happy to sign.
Speaking after committing his future to his hometown club until at least the summer of 2020, Hamilton said: “I was pleased when they offered me the new deal and very, very happy to sign it in order to commit my future to the Club. I’m very excited to see what the next two years will bring.
“It’s pleasing to see that the Club believe in my ability and have rewarded my progress this season with a contract for the next two years.
“I’ve been at the Academy here since I was eight and obviously the end goal is to establish myself in the first-team set-up here.
“That has been my aim for a long, long time now. I’ve watched a lot of games at the KCOM Stadium during my time at the Academy, but the aim is to be playing in those games in the future. I’ll keep working hard and giving my all to make that happen.”
Now a permanent fixture at the Tigers’ University of Hull Training Ground, Hamilton believes the experience of training alongside senior professionals on a daily basis has been beneficial to his development.
“Training at Cottingham with the first team day in, day out this season has been a great experience,” he added.
“Obviously I know Max and Jarrod from their time at the Academy, which has been a big help, but the rest of the lads have been fantastic with me as well. I can’t stress how helpful everyone has been in helping me to adjust.
“It’s a great environment for me to learn in and improve. I’m learning from the senior players in the squad every single day, which in turn will only help me to develop and continue making progress.”
