Henriksen’s Norway Held By Romania

16 October 2019
Markus Henriknsen’s Norway were held to a 1-1 draw by Romania at the Arena Națională in Bucharest on Tuesday night.

The Tigers’ midfielder played 81 minutes of the UEFA Euro 2020 qualifier before being replaced by Mathias Normann.

Norway dominated possession from the offset, but Romania always looked the liveliest of the two sides. Rune Jarstein denied a George Puşcaş penalty early in the second period, but Alexandru Mitriță pounced on a weak clearance to fire the hosts in front just past the hour mark before Lars Lagerbäck’s side equalised through Alexander Sørloth’s stoppage-time header.

The draw leaves Norway in fourth place in Group F – four points behind second-placed Sweden and three behind Romania in third with just two qualifiers remaining.
