Members from the Hull branch of The Royal British Legion will be the Club’s guests of honour, and we ask all supporters inside the ground to please take to their seats a few minutes earlier than usual to join us in in our Remembrance activity ahead of kick-off.
The two teams will emerge from the tunnel at around 2.52pm to form a Guard of Honour through which Standard Bearers and Veterans will be welcomed onto the pitch.
The captains of both teams will lay poppy wreaths before the two sides are called to the centre circle and the matchball is presented to the referee by Ken Simmonds, a Royal Air Force veteran who served for 22 years.
Ken will then read the Exhortation, which will be followed by the playing of The Last Post leading into a minute’s silence (we respectfully ask for no applause at the end of The Last Post). The silence will be brought to an end by the playing of The Reveille and the Kohima Prayer.
The team’s playing shirts will also feature a poppy, which will be up for auction via MatchWornShirt.com from 3pm this afternoon here.
You can further support The Royal British Legion with our 2019 Hull City Poppy pin-badge, which is available to buy now priced £2.99 with proceeds going to the Legion – click here to buy online or pop in to Tiger Leisure ahead of the game.
