Hull City vs Ipswich Town: Team News

13 September 2018
Jackson Irvine, Tommy Elphick and Chris Martin are all pushing for inclusion as Nigel Adkins prepares his Hull City side to face Ipswich Town on Saturday.

Irvine returned to training on Thursday morning having missed the last two Championship fixtures with a thigh problem, with Adkins waiting to see whether the Australian midfielder suffers any adverse reaction before deciding whether to include him in his plans.

Elphick and Martin are both pushing for debuts after joining just before the international break with both having trained fully during the last couple of weeks, while Ondrej Mazuch is also now back in training after suffering a knee injury in pre-season.

Flight delays mean that Eric Lichaj won’t return to the Tigers’ Cottingham training base until Friday having been away on international duty with the U.S, leaving Adkins with a decision to make over his involvement given he was involved in a friendly against Mexico in the early hours of Wednesday morning, but Kamil Grosicki is available for selection after a proposed deadline day move away fell through.

Ipswich look likely to have Cole Skuse available despite the midfielder being stretchered off against Norwich City last time out, but Teddy Bishop, Emyr Huws and Andre Dozzell are not yet ready to return to first team action as their recovery from injury continues.
