Hull City vs Charlton Athletic: Team News

12 March 2020
Grant McCann was looking forward to welcoming some faces back to training on Thursday morning with a view to them possibly playing a part in Saturday’s home game against Charlton Athletic.

Although the Tigers’ Head Coach stopped short of naming names, the easing of the squad’s injury list comes as a welcome boost at an important time.

“We’re looking a little bit better,” said McCann.

“We’ll have three players back on the training ground today. I’m not going to name names because we want to see how they come through it and whether Saturday will be too soon. The training ground looks brighter and bubblier and we should have 21 or 22 players out there which is a nice boost.”

Kevin Stewart will be fit to face Charlton despite coming off during the first half of last weekend’s defeat at Stoke City, but Mallik Wilks will miss out with a hamstring problem picked up in the same game.

Charlton boss Lee Bowyer will welcome defender Tom Lockyer back from suspension this weekend, while fellow defender Naby Sarr could also be available after missing the last three games through injury.
