Hull City vs Queens Park Rangers: Team News

17 October 2019
Head Coach Grant McCann has a fully fit squad to choose from for Saturday’s home game against Queens Park Rangers, the one exception being Jordy de Wijs who will miss out with an ankle injury picked up in training.

de Wijs damaged ligaments in his ankle last week, although with the injury not too serious McCann is hopeful the Dutch centre back will only miss a couple of games at the most.

Callum Elder and Jon Toral are both in contention to feature this weekend having trained over the international break, while all of the Tigers’ international players have returned fit and well.

“It’s frustrating to lose Jordy because it was just the way somebody fell against his ankle and the way he had his foot planted,” said McCann.

“Thankfully it happened early in the international break and we’re pleased with the progress he’s made over the last six or seven days. The worst-case scenario is that he might miss the next two games.

“It gives an opportunity for Ryan Tafazolli and Matthew Pennington. They’ve both been really patient, trained well and their attitudes have been outstanding.”
