International Round-Up

05 September 2017
Kamil Grosicki enjoyed a successful Monday night with Poland as he helped his country to a 3-0 victory over Kazakhstan in their latest World Cup qualifier.

Grosicki played all but the closing moments of the win in Warsaw, a result that leaves Poland three points clear at the top of Group E with two games left to play.

24 hours earlier, Sebastian Larsson enjoyed a 4-0 success with Sweden in Group A. Larsson played the full 90 minutes as his country moved to within a point of group leaders France.

Back to Monday night and there was no action for Allan McGregor with Scotland as the goalkeeper watched his country’s 2-0 win against Malta from the bench, while Ola Aina awaits his international debut for Nigeria after being an unused substitute for their 1-1 draw in Cameroon. Will Mannion also watched on as England U20s drew 0-0 with Switzerland.

As the latest round of international fixtures draws to a close, Jackson Irvine was an unused substitute for Australia as they beat Thailand 2-1 on Tuesday lunchtime, David Meyler is set to feature for the Republic of Ireland against Serbia tonight while Fikayo Tomori could play a part for England U21s against Latvia.
