Academy Manager

Hull City are seeking to appoint a proficient, ambitious and dedicated professional for the position of Academy Manager. Reporting to the Vice Chairman, the successful candidate will be required to supervise the coaching of all age groups and oversee scholar recruitment.

Location: Bishop Burton College, York Road, Bishop Burton, Beverley, HU17 8QG

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the Academy Plan
  • Manage and develop all internal and external stakeholder relationships
  • Achieve and retain EPPP2 status
  • Ensure Academy Coaching Plan is aligned to 1st Team Coaching Plan
  • Lead and administer the Technical Strategy Board
  • Develop and manage the Academy Budget
  • Ensure all Academy documentation meets regulatory requirements
  • Conduct annual appraisals for all Academy staff
  • Work effectively with the Club Media Department
  • Manage and direct all Academy Sports Science activity
  • Ensure compliance with HSE and Safeguarding Legislation
  • Oversee the development and management of the Scouting Network

 Essential Criteria:

  • Current UEFA B Licence
  • FA Youth Modules 1-3
  • Valid FA EFAiF
  • Valid FA Safeguarding Certificate

Desirable Criteria:

  • Current UEFA A Licence
  • FA Advanced Youth Award
  • University Degree BA or BSc

Required Coaching Experience:

  • Evidence and experience of coaching a competitive team within a defined playing philosophy
  • Knowledge or previous experience of the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP)
  • Knowledge or previous experience of the PMA
  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team

About the Academy:

Hull City Academy develops and works with talented young footballers from the age of 8 to 23. We have made significant progress at the Academy since the Club successfully achieved its quest to gain Category Two status in the summer of 2015, with the primary focus on developing and nurturing players with outstanding potential into future first team regulars. In line with the Football Association’s Charter of Quality, the Academy prepares players of the future for the Club and enables our scholars to progress both on and off the field throughout their tenure with us.
