Casual Academy Physiotherapists

Hull City Academy are currently seeking to recruit multiple Casual Physiotherapists to assist in the delivery of the academy medical provision to the School Boy programme (u9’s -u16’s). This includes but is not limited to pitch-side first aid cover and evening clinic cover. Applicants will get the opportunity to work within an elite sporting environment as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The successful candidate(s) will hold HCPC and CSP membership and a BSc or MSc in Physiotherapy. Desirably they will hold a current, valid  ITMMiF / IFAS although this is not essential. Candidates must also be willing to complete a DBS check and an FA safeguarding workshop.

Successful candidates will liaise with:

  • Academy Manager
  • Head of Academy Sports Science and Medicine
  • Head of Academy Physiotherapy
  • Full-time Physiotherapists, Sport Scientists and Strength & Conditioning coaches
  • Part-time Physiotherapists and Therapists
  • Part time / Internship / MSc Students
  • Academy coaches for all age groups between U9’s and U16’s

Successful candidates will provide emergency pitch side cover for weekend and evening academy games/ tournaments and training sessions. They are expected to hold high levels of communication skills and liaise with the full-time Physiotherapists regarding all injuries and assist in the handovers to coaches and parents regarding medical matters. Legally binding notes will be produced accurately in keeping with HCPC and CSP standards documented via the PMA system.

Relevant Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience of using the PMA system is desirable
  • Experience of Elite sport, preferably football, is desirable
  • Understanding of EPPP and requirements working in an academy setting
  • Full Driving License
  • Computer Literacy including Microsoft office
  • High work ethic
  • Committed to offering world class support services to young and aspiring footballers
  • Understanding the impact of growth and maturation from a medical perspective in youth athletes

The role requires a dedicated and organised individual who is committed and keen to learn and develop within a growing medical team. Opportunities for in-house CPD along with club medical personnel and members of the Performance & Medical Department are available throughout the season. There will also be further opportunities for national and international travel over the course of the season.

Rate of pay: £13.38 per hour
