Jones Pens New Deal

15 October 2019
U23s midfielder Callum Jones has been rewarded for his progress this season with a new contract until the summer of 2021, with a Club option of a further year.

The 18-year-old put pen-to-paper on the deal at the Club’s Cottingham Training Ground earlier this afternoon – less than three months after signing his first professional contract with the Tigers in the summer having previously been on the books at Bury.

Speaking after committing his future to the Club, Jones said: “I’m over the moon to have earned a new deal so soon after joining the Club. Any time a Club offers you a new contract, it’s brilliant.

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time here so far. All the boys have been class and have really helped me to settle in – as have the coaches.

“Playing at Category Two level has been great. It’s a higher standard to what I was playing at with Bury – which was Category Three – and I feel as though I’ve improved in all areas of my game already.

“Hopefully I can now continue to improve and develop in order to get where I want to be in the long-run, which is being involved in the first-team set-up.

“The pathway here from the Academy to the first-team is clear for all to see with the number of lads that have progressed in recent seasons and hopefully I can follow in their footsteps.”
