The Tigers won only one of their six Sky Bet Championship fixtures ahead of the international break, although the performances of Grant McCann’s side arguably deserved a better return and club skipper Lichaj knows the quality is there to secure positive results in this next block of games.
“We’re looking forward to this next block of fixtures and we feel that we are close to hitting a good run of results,” said Lichaj.
“A look at the league table is a little disappointing right now given how we have played in the first six games, but we remain quietly confident for the weeks and months ahead because we have been creating an awful lot of chances.
“The last couple of weeks have been an opportunity for us to put in some really good work on the training field and for the group to look at the strengths and weaknesses that have been evident during the opening month of the season. We know that we need to be killing teams off when we have the chance whilst also just shoring things up at the back a little bit, too.
“We’re looking forward to getting back into action now.”
Speaking more specifically about this weekend’s game against Wigan, Lichaj added: “We’ll be ready to go and, like every game in the Championship, we will face a tough test against Wigan.
“However, we are at home and we will be looking for our second win of the season on home soil.”
