The Tigers responded from defeat at Barnsley by winning at home to Stoke City, only to then slip to an undeserved loss away at high-flying Leeds United on Tuesday night.
Grant McCann’s were beaten 2-0 at Elland Road, but captain Lichaj believes they have the quality to make history repeat itself when they travel to capital to face Charlton Athletic in front of the Sky Sports cameras this evening.
“It was a disappointing defeat away at Leeds in midweek,” he said.
“We gave a good account of ourselves and we definitely deserved something from the game. The 2-0 scoreline really didn’t reflect the performance we put in as a team.
“It’s been a quick turnaround for us with the trip to Charlton tonight but it’s nothing new to myself and or any of the others lads. I’ve been doing it for ten years now!
“Our rest and recovery process has been spot on, so it’s a game we’re very much looking forward to.
“We’ve come back in, picked ourselves up and we’re ready to go again for what is our third game in the space of six days this evening.
“We lost against Barnsley and we bounced back and showed our quality. We know we can do that again. We’ll be positive and look to get back to winning ways at the first time of asking.”
