More than 1,000 fans turned up to watch the Tigers’ first-team being put through their paces by Grant McCann and his coaching staff ahead of this weekend’s Sky Bet Championship trip to Fulham.
They were treated to a full training session on the KCOM pitch – with all children invited to join the players for a kick-about by the Head Coach – before getting the chance to collect autographs and photos in an hour-long signing session on the West Stand concourse.
Reflecting on the event, Magennis said: “It was a great day down at the KCOM Stadium and it was fantastic to see so many smiles on faces.
“It was nice for the fans – young and old – to get an insight into what we do on a daily basis with the training session.
“It was fantastic to have the kids join us on the pitch afterwards as well. To have the opportunity to play on the KCOM pitch alongside some of their heroes – I’m sure they all loved that!
“It was also a really enjoyable event for the players because we got to interact a bit more with them. It’s the least we can do really. We’re more than happy to spend some time with them.
“It’s vital to the Club that we do things like this as well and it was great to see so many families here and particularly youngsters with it being half-term. The joy on their faces was clear for all to see.”
