Hull City

Match Preview: Lincoln Red Imps (Marbella)

12 July 2019
Hull City are back in pre-season action this evening when they take on Lincoln Red Imps in Marbella (KO 7pm local time/6pm UK time).

The Tigers face the reigning Gibraltar Premier Division champions at the Marbella Football Center in what is the second fixture of the Club’s pre-season tour of Spain following Tuesday night’s 2-2 draw with Leyton Orient.

Lincoln Red Imps Football Club was first formed in 1976. A group of players associated to the old police youth team called the Blue Batons and complemented by players that had been released by Glacis United and St. Jago’s joined forces to form the first Lincoln team that played in the Gibraltar fourth division.

Fast forward 43 years and, with a rich and successful history, Lincoln Red Imps are now 24-time Champions of their national league and will be looking for a third successive title in 2019/20 having lifted the trophy in both the previous two campaigns.

However, they suffered disappointment last month when losing 1-0 to Kosovan side Feronikeli in a UEFA Champions League Preliminary Round Mini Tournament semi-final – a defeat that meant they will enter the UEFA Europa League at the second qualifying round stage.

Admission to the pre-season friendly fixture at the Marbella Football Center is free of charge for all fans.
