New Contract For Jarrod Bowen

27 September 2017
Jarrod Bowen has re-committed his future to the Club after signing a new and improved deal with the Tigers.

Bowen, who is currently the joint-leading goalscorer in the Sky Bet Championship with six to his name so far, has agreed a new contract until 2020 which also includes the option of adding an extra year at a later date.

The 20-year-old has been in the form of his life so far this season, winning the EFL Young Player of the Month Award for August, and is delighted to have put pen to paper on a new deal.

“It has been three years since I first arrived here and it has been a fantastic journey so far,” said Bowen.

“The last couple of months have been brilliant for me personally, but I know that I have to continue to improve my game and I am looking forward to doing that here.”

Signed from non-league side Hereford United in 2014, Bowen initially shone for the Tigers’ Academy before making his first team debut in an EFL Cup tie against Exeter City early in the 2016/17 season.

A first Premier League appearance followed in October and he ended the campaign having played nine times at senior level.

Bowen is now a key part of Head Coach Leonid Slutsky’s plans in the Championship, and Slutsky is understandably pleased that his top scorer has agreed a new contract.

“Jarrod has been a very important player for us so far this season, and he is also a player with the potential to improve even further,” said Slutsky.

“He is a player that has stood out since I arrived here during the summer and I am delighted that he has agreed a new deal with us.”
