Hull City are to assess the fitness of George Honeyman ahead of their clash against Portsmouth.
The midfielder was absent through injury against Blackpool on Tuesday night, and McCann has confirmed that the Tigers will make a call on Honeyman after they receive scan results later today.
“We’ll get some more news on George Honeyman later today,” said McCann. “It’s a little niggling problem he’s had for a while. George is a really honest boy and he doesn’t want to let anyone down but he’s probably played through a couple of games with it.
“We’ll get the reports back from the scan today and we’ll find out the issue, but we’re not expecting it to be anything that will keep him out for long. I’m hoping we’ll get some good news back today and he’ll be okay for tomorrow.
“Everyone came through the Blackpool game okay. We’ll still be without Alfie Jones, Callum Jones and Martin Samuelsen. Particularly Alfie and Martin are quite close to a return and might be back with the group next week.”
