Grant McCann has provided a fitness update ahead of the Tigers’ League One match against Shrewsbury Town.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, the boss confirmed that Tom Eaves, who was withdrawn against Crewe in the Papa John’s Trophy through illness, had a Covid-19 test yesterday. The result has since come back negative.
Martin Samuelsen is set to have another scan on the calf injury that saw him pull up in the warm-up ahead of the Crewe game.
McCann explained: “Martin has had a scan but nothing is too clear on the scan so the physios want to rescan Martin’s calf to get to the bottom of it.
“That will take place today so we should know more over the weekend. It’s very unlikely he’ll be available for Saturday.”
Jordy de Wijs has trained all week and will be available for selection, as will Dan Batty, who will train this afternoon for the first time since recovering from a hamstring injury.
Alfie Jones and namesake Callum (both hamstring) are both unavailable.
