Hull City U23 Ahmed Salam has challenged the team to carry on the momentum after defeating Coventry City 2-0 at Bootham Crescent.
Goals in each half from Josh Hinds and McCauley Snelgrove sealed all three points for the Tigers in their latest U23 Professional Development League fixture.
“I’m delighted with the result and performance,” said Salam.
“All the lads dug in for the ninety minutes and to come in at half-time ahead after having most of the ball as well as the pressing we did high up the pitch to win the ball back was great and we knew we had to continue that in the second half to earn the three points.
“I think we created our own luck by winning the ball high up the pitch and we created our own chances from that and we could have scored three or four with the amount of chances we created, but the main thing was the three points and the clean sheet.
“It’s the reason we train and play games to get the three points and that’s got to be our momentum going into the next game against Barnsley as that is our standards we set everyday.
“We just need to carry on from this result against Coventry with the desire to win and the results should hopefully take care of itself. Barnsley are always difficult to play against, but I think we have the players to compete and adapt to what they do as well as be able to play our own game.”
