Club Captain Richie Smallwood has urged his Hull City team mates to keep the momentum flowing heading into a busy December period.
The Tigers are currently on a six match winning run in all competitions, and the midfielder says he is happy with how the team are performing.
“I’m feeling good and enjoying playing with the quality of players that we’ve got,” said Smallwood. “So long may that continue. I’m feeling sharp and the longer that goes on, the more I feel I will come into my own.
“I want to play. I had a long time not playing before I came to Hull City so I want to be involved in every game that we play. At the end of the day, it’s the gaffer’s decision and he’ll pick the team and the squad that he wants for that particular game. Hopefully I’ll be involved (at Stevenage), though.
“When you’re outside of the top two leagues, everyone wants to get through to the third round of the FA Cup because that’s when the big-hitters come into it. To do that we need to beat Stevenage.
“We have to make sure that we keep doing the basics well. You can’t take your foot off the gas in this league because anyone can beat anyone on their day. The right messages will keep going out and we have to keep delivering on game day. If we keep doing all of that, we’re a match for anyone. The minute we stop doing it, we’ll make it difficult for ourselves.”
