Tigers’ forward Tom Eaves says he wants to add more goals to his game throughout the 2020/21 season.
Eaves got off the mark with a goal against Bristol Rovers on Tuesday night, and the striker wants that to be the starting point for further goals during the current campaign.
“It’s been good to be back in and around the team,” he said. “I’ve had a couple of small cameos at the back end of games but it would be good to get some more minutes now. There’s obviously plenty of competition and it would be good to give the manager a selection headache.
“The balls are getting crossed into the box a lot more this season, so hopefully I’ll get more chances and then it’s up to me to convert those chances.”
Should Eaves feature against Swindon Town, the appearance will mark his 50th in a Hull City shirt.
However, the striker is not focused on the personal accolade, but instead wants to keep his spot in the team and add more goals to his tally.
“It’s Swindon next so we’ll look to go there and perform. Hopefully we’ll start better than we did in the last game and get those three points on the board.
“It’s just another game for me. It’s not something I’ve been counting. I’d like to get a lot more goals this season, which is hopefully what I’m going to do. I’m pleased to reach that landmark but I just want to add more goals this season.”
