Grant McCann wants his side to respond to the defeat against Peterborough in the same manner as they did after losing to Fleetwood.
The Tigers followed up the reverse at Highbury with back-to-back wins and clean sheets against Rochdale and AFC Wimbledon.
McCann is hoping for something similar when City travel to Bristol Rovers tonight – but is anticipating a tough test against a Pirates side that have won three of their last four.
“We have to make sure we prepare properly and recover properly from Peterborough,” said McCann.
“Bristol Rovers have recruited quite well and they’re a decent team at this level. It’s always tough there.
“We’ll go there and try to respond just like we did after Fleetwood.”
Defeat against Peterborough was just the Tigers’ second in eight matches, but McCann believes there is still room for improvement.
“We want to be better,” he added. “On a whole, we’ve been good.
“I thought Peterborough was one of our better games in between both boxes, in terms of our build-up play and how we got to the final third.
“Again, we didn’t get that second goal, that killer goal we needed, to maybe put us more in the ascendancy.
“We’ll continue to improve and I know for a fact this team is going to get better and better as the season goes on.”
