Elder on Northampton Town test

26 September 2020

Callum Elder is expecting a tough challenge when the Tigers head to the PTS Academy Stadium today.

The left-back made his first Sky Bet League One start of the season during Hull City’s 1-0 win over Crewe Alexandra, but expects to face different challenges during the match against newly-promoted Northampton Town.

“It’s great to be back in and amongst the lads and we’ve got off to a good start so long may that continue,” he said.

“Every team we play in this division will throw up a new test for us, it’s about how we adapt to the challenge and how we impose ourselves on the game as well as looking at their strengths.

“Northampton will still be riding high on the back of their promotion last season. We’re going to a difficult ground but we need to go there, stamp our authority on the game and show what we can do. We need to continue the momentum we’ve built so far this season.

“The win at Leeds was great, everyone played excellently and then we backed it up with a 1-0 win at home to Crewe with the clean sheet too. The Crewe match was a difficult test, just like Northampton will be this weekend.”
